With seamless systems and global reach, Air Business brings next-gen logistics to life

Award-winning provider of global logistics solutions, Air Business, is stepping boldly into the future with tracking, packing, and delivery solutions fit for the 21st century. Having found its feet in the publishing industry, the company is now making strategic moves in the online e-commerce space. As Global e-Commerce and Technology Director, Andy Haylar, begins: “Air Business has been a trusted name in logistics for over 30 years. We originally built our reputation by distributing magazines and academic journals through international mail.

In 2011, we expanded our capabilities even further, with the acquisition of Reed Elsevier’s Subscription Management Department. This allowed us to add customer data handling, renewals, payment collection, and client services to our portfolio.”

As the publishing industry shifted from print to digital, Air Business strategically evolved. Today, it is firmly positioned in global e-commerce and logistics, offering a full suite of services across technology, fulfillment, international delivery, and customs. More recently, the company has also expanded into event logistics, supporting clients with the end-to-end movement and management of exhibition materials worldwide.

Thanks to its bold approach to development and willingness to expand into new markets, Air Business now offers a truly expansive range of services. Group Sales Director, Robert Barham, explains why flexibility is key to this approach: “For each commodity, purpose, and end-customer there will be different considerations and requirements. We’re here to help our customers find the right fit for them – we call this optimal routing.”

He illustrates this with an example from a recent customer win, where they had been using an expensive express carrier: “Using our Consero platform, we automatically route shipments via the least cost/SLA-appropriate network. With our optimized hybrid commercial/postal routing, we delivered a 38 percent saving to the customer. What’s more, our routing engine also considers carbon impact, selecting carriers and routes that reduce emissions wherever possible. This model ensures every shipment is not only cost-effective and SLA-compliant, but also aligned with our customers’ sustainability goals.”

Indeed, from the most sophisticated tracking solution to the delivery of untracked mail, Air Business ensures that products are safely handled throughout its global network. While its expertise suits high-value products, simpler, untracked items such as magazines and leaflets are also part of its delivery offering.

“We’re also a major player in global e-commerce logistics, delivering a comprehensive and technology-driven logistics solution,” adds Robert. Tailored for the evolving needs of international e-commerce, these services are structured around five strategic pillars.

“The first is technology. Air Business empowers retailers with digital tools, including the Consero White Label platform, a robust warehouse management system, and expert consultancy services to streamline operations and enhance scalability.

“Secondly, we have our global final mile division. This team ensures seamless delivery to end customers through a mix of direct entry, postal and commercial delivery options, and import services, enabling efficient last-mile logistics across borders.

“We also offer global conveyance services. This gives us access to a range of flexible transport modes, including air, road, and sea. Air Business supports its clients by optimizing cost, speed, and reliability for international shipments. a person using a tablet with a Warehouse Management System interface

“Another of our strategic pillars is 3PL/4PL services. These are third- and fourth-party logistics solutions, including virtual address services, inbound and outbound logistics, end-to-end capabilities, and comprehensive warehousing and fulfillment support.

“Finally, we offer cloud e-fulfilment. With scalable cloud-based infrastructure, the company provides storage, pick and pack services, and real-time inventory management to meet the demands of fast-moving e-commerce environments,” Andy elaborates.

Underpinning its dedication to meeting the needs of customers wherever they need a solution, Air Business’ network stretches around the globe, delivering to over 220 countries and territories, with a strong focus on strategic lanes and emerging markets. “Our key lane into Ireland is powered by our parent company, An Post, offering unmatched delivery reach and local expertise,” says Robert.

“We have 98 percent coverage on the destination country’s population, 98 percent of the time. Not only this, but we operate a global 4PL network across the US, EU, UK, and Southeast Asia, providing end-to-end logistics, warehousing, and fulfillment. In Latin America, where e-commerce is growing by up to 20 percent annually, we’re building direct entry lanes and local partnerships to meet rising demand in a complex market. We’re thrilled to be launching this LATAM delivery lane – it is a unique, cost-competitive solution that opens exciting opportunities for our clients looking to expand into Latin America. It’s a strategic move that strengthens our global reach and reinforces our commitment to accessible, efficient international logistics.

“In Southeast Asia, we’re expanding through strategic alliances to strengthen last-mile delivery and customs capabilities. These new partnerships will further enhance our cross-border capabilities and provide even more flexible, localized solutions for businesses operating in that region. Our goal is to continuously grow our network, leveraging technology and local expertise to offer scalable, reliable global logistics solutions.”

Having evolved into a business with a truly global attitude to logistics solutions, Air Business took the decision to update its brand, as Andy discusses: “Our brand has long been recognized in the publishing sector for its honesty, reliability, and accessibility. As we expanded into the e-commerce space, we decided to undergo a rebrand that would truly reflect the business as it is today.

“Our name is already well known and synonymous with who we are. So instead of starting from scratch, we chose to build on that recognition with a fresh new look and a renewed focus. We’re now working to grow awareness of our brand in the e-commerce world, while staying true to the values that made us trusted in publishing.

“A big part of that evolution is the new strapline for our e-commerce division – ‘Smiles Delivered’. It captures the joy and anticipation of receiving something special – whether it’s the buzz of a dispatch notification or the moment your parcel arrives at the door. To make that experience even better, our new platform, Consero, will soon allow customers to track their orders in real time – just like watching your Uber driver approach. It’s all about transparency, excitement, and delivering a little happiness with every order.”

With an all-new brand identity, Air Business steps confidently into its next chapter. As Robert concludes: “The second half of 2025 is shaping up to be a truly dynamic period for Air Business, with several major initiatives on the horizon, such as the LATAM delivery lane and the new partnerships in Southeast Asia.

“Finally, watch this space for our brand-new website. Designed to better reflect who we are today and where we’re headed, it’s a big part of our ongoing evolution as a tech-driven, customer-first logistics partner.”
