Bureau Veritas invests in OrbitMI to propel performance

In an effort to propel performance in the maritime industry, Bureau Veritas has invested in software innovator, OrbitMI

Bureau Veritas is a world leader in testing, inspection, and certification services. It has invested in OrbitMI, a New York-based maritime software company. The investment from Bureau Veritas complements OrbitMI’s focus on performance solutions for ship owners, operators, and charterers.

Their strategic collaboration is aimed at accelerating the development of both existing and new data-driven solutions. It will leverage combined strengths to address the dual opportunities of digital transformation and the decarbonization of shipping. This addresses clients’ immediate regulatory and decarbonization requirements posed by CII, EU ETS, and the recently enacted FuelEU standards.

“We are linking the interests of operators in ship and fleet performance with our technical expertise, insight, and classification services,” said Matthieu De Tugny, President of Bureau Veritas Marine and Offshore. “This expanding role is deeply intertwined with data monitoring and the implementation of digital solutions.”

Improving performance requires that people can make the most informed decisions in the context of their day-to-day responsibilities. To do so, OrbitMI pursues ‘transformation without disruption,’ allowing its software-as-a-service platform to be easily integrated with companies’ existing systems. OrbitMI then transforms data into insights that individuals and teams can use to enhance daily tasks, whether on ship or on shore.

With Bureau Veritas, a highly respected partner, OrbitMI will further strengthen its platform with high-quality, trustworthy data. This will enable solutions that not only address the challenges currently facing the maritime industry, but also issues in the future.
